ALTERED CIGAR BOX

Hello my lovely visitors, I just made a quick.
altered cigar box. My sweet buddy Tonniece had
given me 11 lovely stamps just cause
 she is very giving.
I had them in a zip lock bag and decided they need
a box, which I have a few of  :)..
I cut up a 12x12 sheet and a few extra bits.
Stamped a few of them edged them in ink.
Even tried some light stamping, not LOL I  didn't
stamp until after I attached 2 sides, stamped it first
after:)..
I was looking for a button to add for the tab I made to
make it easier to open, my friend Jan had given me some
old buttons, I saw a beige one and when I looked at it, tried
to see the writing, put my magnifying glasses on, it said
Cambridge Clothes. This was a men's clothing makers in
Hamilton where I live. the company has been in our downtown
area since I was a kid, yes a very long time ago.
I didn't wan to put anything on it since I would be handling it.

The Chinese Lady on the inside lid I got from my DS Sandy.
loooove her..

I left 2 of the sides inside blank, I really liked the
box before I covered it..
Thanks so much for your visit
and have a wonderful creative day..
NAMASTE!!!

  1. I like how aged the box looks and that tab/button opening is a clever idea. Really love the stamps on the top of the box too. Hugs, Anne x

  2. I so love what you've done with this box, Dianne - the stamps are really sweet and the colours are lovely. Like Redanne, I love the way you've aged it. This is a great idea for storage too. Your home must be an Aladdin's Cave of little treasures! Julie Ann xx

This is a gorgeous altered creation - William Morris would be proud that it is both practical and beautiful!
The muted colours are so soothing and wonderful stamps.
So much nicer than a zip lock bag!

  21. My daughter bought me a couple of cigar boxes a few weeks ago. I think she's trying to get me to sit at my art table again. :) I keep looking at them for altering but they are so beautiful already. I might try altering one which is more plain than the other...soon.
It's always so fun to visit with you, Dianne. As usual, I like to take my time and enjoy every detail. Perfect tour today.
