THE DRESS OF MANY COLORS...

Hello all you wonderful creative visitors, I want to tell you how much you all inspire me, I was thinking that while I was creating my Cottage ATB, my heart has been singing out loud by all the creations I have been absorbing, I could not do what I do without you my Lovelies, THANK YOU...

I'm trying to play catch up before I leave, sharing what I have already made, this dress has been on the back burner for a while now. My DS Sandy has been telling me to use my paper towels I keep from when I'm pouring my inks. There was lots of white still there so I made some sprays and colored them all up, then they sat in a folder for a while.
I'm really glad I created it, I had a ball for 2 days making this, my hands suffered but it was sure worth it....
I used my dress templates I made, cover it with the paper towels, then folded 2 layers added light pink netting in between, the top layer I stamped it with swirls, and gathered it together to give it softer folds. I used 2 pieces of lace for the waist piece, I folded a paper towel to form the bodice. Added a piece of step ladder yarn to be able to hang it..

You can see the layers here..

The jewel on her bodice is a piece of necklace. Glued on some foam butterfly's to hide the wires, used stardust stickles on top.

The danglys  are from a earring I took apart...

Another close up....

Thanks Sandy for making me make it, I adore my dress of many colors. She is hanging in the bird cage...
After swimming I had company till 4ish today, then have been madly working on the ATB, hopefully I can get it finished.
I think I can, I think I can, I think I can, :O)......
I have my Dragons tag to post before Wed evening...
Thanks for visiting my crazy, busy, messy nest

BRIGITA'S FORGOTEN GOWN......

Hello my Lovelies, I have started a series of
dresses, I'm going to hang them in my bird cage,
my last Canary who used to sing to me all day
passed away about a year ago, now it sits empty
in my studio (front room), so I'm going to fill it
with tiny dresses, Tonniece's idea brilliant one :O).
This one belong's to Miss Brigita, a beautiful fairy...

I started with my beer mats shaped like a dress,
gessoed it, tore up strips of my tea dyed material,
some of my rusted material,
I folded a gessoed, inked, stamped, book page for the center,
Used some white net under it than the gathered tan mesh on top.
I started layering the torn pieces on each side till I got
the shape I wanted.
I cut  out 2 pieces from a tea dyed big doilies  to
lay over the front.
I wrapped the rusted strips over the top crisscrossed,.
Wrapped some lace around her waist, then a triangle
rusted piece to cover the doilies,

This was an earring I glued it at her waist,
the little brown beads were red, used a copic to
color them,
added a flat wooden bead and a blue flat back pearl.
I had a lot of thread from tearing the material, so I
gathered a pile and twirled it together then wrapped
it around the wooden bead, then hanging on the sides...

The left side..

The right side...

I kind of have to cover the backs so I glued a
piece of rusted material...
I love this grungy old look, threads hanging every where
so I think it will be my
favorite for now..
Thanks so much for visiting,
It's Thanksgiving weekend in Canada, I'm thankful
for every one of my followers, who all inspire me.
THANK YOU..
Hope you have a wonderful weekend..

NEW DRESS

New dress, my friend Jan got me the plastic frame at the $ store.
I thought what the heck can I do with this.
I have been trying to make smaller dresses like
http://www.messiejessieblog.co.uk/
I got 2 of them for Christmas, they are really small,
she makes some that fit into candy cans.
Haven't achieved that yet. This form is a lot bigger.
I decided to make a form of the body then dress that.
I took plastic wrap and wrapped it around it, twirled
the two side till it was snug, I used a big clip to hold it.
I soaked some torn strips of book pages in water,
then podged them on her to shape a corset,
leaving a small empty space down the back.
When it dried, I cut the plastic off the back and could
then slip it off the form.
I cover the top with some lovely old lace I got from my DS.
I gessoed some old book pages just over the writing
distressed the edge with Tim's tea dye.
I rolled the pages corner to corner glued them.
I glued them to my form to the back of the hips.
I did a running stitch on the lace gathered it to fit
around the top of the skirt.
For the beads, I had a 50 cent bin at Michael's,
they were a pumpkin, I swirled them around the top
and bottom. They were orange so I painted them
with bronze nail polish.
I had to keep a few words showing on the waist :)..
I first saw a dress made like this on my BBF pinterest.
I knew I had to make one, loving dresses like I do...
I do LOVE how it turned out..
I'm busy making up my give away bags, almost done,
can't wait to get to my desk and create something:):)
I've been visiting all my lovely Ladies and am all a
twitter from all the inspiration....
Thanks for visiting and have a fun creative weekend..

BALL GOWN

Good day my Lovely Ladies well here is the ball gown for the Faerie
Princess dress:):).
I have been collecting pretty napkins forever, I saw a dress made of
them, so I thought shesh I should use some of my tissue and create my own.
I used more wallpaper to line the inside aged it a bit.
I also put a strip of the inked paper on all 4 sides.
I did add a handle to pull the box open but no pic of that.
I cut out a bodice and covered it with my inked time cards.
I used some of the same inked card in the bottom corner to match.
I used 2 a green and a purple one folded them in triangles to form
the bottom of the dress.
I used some sequins for the top and some ribbons to create the waistline.
Then used the gorgeous, avocado green ribbon to create the top layer.
I added some shiny dollar store bling on the bottom of the dress.
As you see there is a special little faerie to guard the Princess dress.
She has done an excellent job..:):).
Thanks  for visiting and  and have a wonderful day.
