COTTAGE ATB..

Hello my Lovelies, I just wanted to share my DS Shirley's BD gift.
I created the ATB to look just like her Humming Bird cottage..
I wanted to take the photos outside her cottage but the lovely rain prevented that.
I must have caught a bug when I was up there and have been sick for 3 days in bed, better now, thank goodness, :), which is why I haven't posted this or visited anyone..
I used some lovely old coasters from the Queens Jubilee in 1977..
I made it like I usually do but then had to create a roof, I used 2 for the roof and 1 cut in half to create the angle on it. I made some paper for the wood siding and the roof tiles. I had to make a deck, so I glued some Popsicle sticks on an old wood trivet I had, in my stash..
I used a envelope that had a mesh pattern on it for all the windows, then cut thin strips from old book pages to use for framing them, love how they turned out.

I stamped 2 humming birds on acetate, coloring them with blue and green pebeo paint, cut them out to put under the eaves , I made some hummingbird feeders from red beads and sequins, I only made 5, she has 14 of them all around and lots of chimes, no time to make them.
She has one large glass window with no screen in the front, I used a piece of paper looking like clouds and cut a piece of acetate to make it look like the sky reflecting in it..
Oh my goodness I have my Mothers hands, spooky :O)..
I put the rest of the coasters inside. I didn't cover the inside, I thought she would like that concept, it matches the coasters inside.
I made the hinge stronger by adding some book binding tape behind the paper..

Made the snow shoes out of the same mesh envelope, just turning the paper to change the angles of the lines, I made the table and chairs from tiny spools and round  wooden circles for the tops, glued a piece of acetate on the table, hers has glass on it, inked them all with broken china. I found a scrap of paper that matched her cushions, a half of a circle for the backs. the white light I used a bead cap a bead and a piece of toothpick, gessoed it , I had a fish charm,  hung it with a twisted wire, I poked a hole in the coaster into hang it and all the feeders. She has a huge creepy iron spider, I get chills just thinking about it, I had a tiny stamp of a spider, image that, my friend just lent me in a bunch of tiny stamps, I'll be using them on some stained tea bags..
Ghees  another long post, thanks for stopping by my nest and letting me share this, I had so much fun making it, I love to make miniatures. I have so many wonderful memories of  my many times there it was a pure labor of love.

                             HUMMINGBIRD COTTAGE...
                                         Welcome!!!!!
Looking up from the French River.. You can see all the feeders which by the way you need to use a ladder, to get at, twice a day, she is the Queen of all those hummers...

I adore the water lilies that thrive on her waterfront ..

She also feeds a few families of ducks, the babies scurry around eating all the cracked corn or torn bread we throw out....

I always pick her a huge bouquet of flowers and greenery...

Some pics of the hummers..

There is always  a female on the cloth line guarding  the feeder, while the males fly around and fight, always buzzing our heads..

I made a book years ago, for all her guests (and she many) to sign and write a tidbit of their holiday at the cottage.
I had pick some wildflowers there one year and pressed them, so thought it was appropriate  to add them to this  book full of  stories...
Okay I'm really ending this post now really, thanks so much for spending some time, letting me share my memories, it's been a PLEASURE   I'll be around to visit can't wait to see what I missed...

ATB BOX FOR A GIFT

Hello my Lovelies, thanks for stopping by my nest, I'm so excited to share this gift for a Lovely Lady at swimming who has just had a double mastectomy. I'm bless to have so many Lovely ladies in my life including all of you.
WARNING this is really photo heavy, so you better grab a cuppa, if you can hang around that long, I'll try to keep the chat to a minimum wish me luck with that :O)...

Decorating the out side I poured all the red ink I had on my desk then ran my gessoed beer mats in it, then put salt on them, with the rest of the ink I soaked up with a piece of water color paper. When it was dry I stamped my hibiscus flower all over it then fuzzy cut them out, yup, yup, yup, I did put some stickles in the middle and my white sharpie for the stamen, love them..

Sweet bow, I'll show you that later, instead of leaves I used a cancer ribbon..

I stamped the sentiment on a gessoed book page, for the hinge I stamped the whole sentiment I used partially  on the inside.

For the inside below,  rubbed a stencil in red ink, left it over night and it soaked into the gesso, a soft pink, some random script of that sentiment, stamped some swirl and my favorite circles.

I used the rest of that inked red paper to make my strips. I made the top hinge from the paper under it.

For the outside stamped some script and butterflies

Stamped some of my favorite sentiments on tissue for the 4 sides, I added a cloth ribbon, with a sentiment around the bottom..

That sweet bow, I found in my stash, finally found out how they work..

you pull on the middle ribbon, the 2 outside pieces scrunch up to create the bow, these are very old, but I love them..

I made some little love notes everyone can sign...

If you still here, THANK YOU for staying, it was a pleasure to make this for Sue, all the love notes are filled out and ready for her.
Thanks for visiting, I'm off to water fit and will visit later..

ARTIST TRADING BLOCK, BD GIFT FOR MY SWEET SIS MARTHA.

Hello my Lovelies, first I must apologize for not visiting, when I do get a bit of time, I have been at my desk, escaping the real world, it's the therapy I need right now, so thanks for stopping by to visit me.
The wonderful Miss Alison at Words and Pictures  made a block using beer mats, I was so excited, I have been wanting to make one for a long time so now I could with no die cuts.. Thanks Miss Alison..

I started out by gessoing all the beer mats, stamping on them, I didn't like how that looked so these became the inside and I started again. Miss Lynne at Adorn made a gorgeous triptych with meadow flowers and corrugated, so I cut up some cardboard peeled it them went lightly over it gesso. I stamped the meadow flowers on canvas and added that on top. The lid I used some gessoed dictionary pages I had used for stamping the stamps a second time, not wanting to waste the ink.
I used a glass bead with the letter M for my DS Martha and a piece of rusted material for the tab to lift the lid..
I made a flower out of crocheted tea dyed pieces and a button for the middle and made a butterfly with lace, a bead for the head and a string of diamonds for the body, added a stick pin to it. I used Tim's tea dye to color the edge of the wings.

I stamped up some card with gathered twigs to join it and on the inside of the lid

I added a tea stained roses, I cut up some gorgeous ribbon my friend Tonniece gave me to add the dangly bits and some beads
I added some of the stamped card to join the lid to the box.
I used some tiny thread spools for the legs...
Thanks again for stopping by..
Update on Deb, the first round of chemo didn't take so they are starting her on another round this week, not sure when I will get around to visit, but know your in my thoughts and heart.
I wish you all a wonderful week,  ((( BIG HUGS )))..
