A CARD FOR A SPECIAL FRIEND !!!

Hello my Lovelies, hope you all enjoying the fall weather as much as I am, looooove it.
Yesterday was my bestie and crafting buddy Sheila BD, I made her a card. Started with a 12x9inches  brown envelope and cover both sides with napkins..

For the outside I glued strips of some UK napkins Miss Shelia is has an Irish background and loves the UK almost as much as I do.
I ran out of glue stick glue, which is the best to lay down the napkins with, the wetter glue made it all bubbly, and wrinkled, I had to press it in a book with weights on it to try to flatten it. Then went over it with watered gesso...

I used some letters to spell out HB and stamped friend on a gessoed book page..

I stamped the sentiment and a thistle all over the front..

For the inside I used lots of flowers since Miss Sheila loves her plants and is a huge dog lover so the cute dog is her and the Magpie is me, best buddies we are, see I'm giving her kisses :)...

I added some glossy accents for his eyes :) and a flower crown. she love hibiscus, I have a stamp and she sat here one day and stamped
on at least 6 pages of card stock full of them, imagine that :O).

I stamped some different scripts and a french postage stamp, she also loves the Eiffel tower ...

Thanks for stopping by my nest and making my day with all your lovely comments.
There is a new challenge up at the Dragons dream, shesh 2 weeks have just flown by where does the time go, so it is a good one can't wait to start dreaming of that...

A SPECIAL CARD.....

Hello my Lovelies, I been really busy at my desk, creating some cards for a Dear Lady at swimming who lost her husband to Cancer.  This is a special card for Mildred it is her best friend. I made one for the gang to sign, I'll post that later..

I started with another envelope, smaller this time, 12 x 91/2. in.
I had a paper sitting around which I had put a stencil I had used with paste then rubbed it on the paper, I used some of Tim's ink, spiced marmalade , rusty hinge, fired brick and worn lipstick to color it up..

I stamped a sentiment all over with pomegranate ink, then cut out a lily from a card front, stamped a sentiment and some fancy corner grasses.

I used a tiny heart stencil and bumped it with 2 paint colors then stamped a lily stamp with white paint..

For the inside I gessoed over a pretty paper, it cover all the shiny bits but gave a beautiful texture, I used gelatos to color it all the reds and oranges pinks I had and blended it with water..

I added a envelope with a thinking of you card inside..

I stamped one of my favorite quotes on some gessoed dictionary page..

I had stamped the faith image on the paper but it got smeared so I stamped it on more gessoed book page, with the word love in the middle and put it on top...

I made my favorite circles with a lid from a hairspray bottle with some Fresco paints, yes I said paints, my wonderful sis Sandy got me 5 of the translucent paints. I have been experimenting with them still need a lots of practice, I keep watching the Paper artys video's.
I stamped some french script in pomegranate stamping up ink and a small butterfly all over , then stamped memories in black ink, if you look at it on the large setting you can see the texture on the page.
I have to get back to my desk and get my challenge for the Dragons done. I was sick most of last week so I have a lot to get caught up on, I'm feeling better now, and will be around to visit later.
Hope you all have a wonderful week, ((( BIG HUGS )))..

A CARD FOR SOME KITTENS

Hello my Lovelies, a quick little card I was asked to make.
My friend Mildred asked me to make her a card for a friend who was getting 2 new Siamese kittens,  I said of course I would, yikes what was I going to make, I had no idea.
This is what I came up with...

A  Z card, I used a brown envelope for the base so it would stand up nicely. I had some blue and white card stock, I covered the bottom with Tim's mowed lawn, to make it look like grass and the sky.

My friend Sheila photo copied some cartoon kittens, I fussy cut them out, punch out some butterflies and dragonflies, making it look like the kittens were chasing after them..

I stamped the sentiment welcome to the family Nutmeg and Jessie Sept. 2014, the writing is a little wonky but it certainly looks home made :O), then stamped I wished for you and love a few times

I colored the kittens with Tim's inks

On the back I stamped the butterflies and dragonflies on the scene..

Thanks for stopping by my nest to see my Kitten card, it was actually fun to make and your wonderful comments make my day..
I wanted to remind you Miss Chris here is doing her blog hop tomorrow, please drop by and give her some love..
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, ((( BIG HUGS )))

NEW CARD

Hello my Lovelies, thanks for stopping by my nest, I've been a busy magpie at my desk repairing earring from a couple of ladies at water fit. Four of us went out for lunch after swimming on Thurs. to an old restaurant on Lake Ontario, Hutches, it has been running since the early 50's in the summers, home made fries and fish, burgers. It is beautiful around the lake. I forgot my camera, next time. We had a grrrreat time lots of laughs, my friend Mildred ask me to make a get well card for her niece, I thought I would make her something she could keep, they are very close..
I went for a butterfly and flower theme, who doesn't love those, and a few sentiments...

This is it, standing up no holder needed...

I started out with a brown paper envelope and cover it with paper I decorated, cut into 3 pieces to allow the folds, easier that way for me..

I painted a sheet of 12x12  with watered gesso, stamped Thinking of you in different scripts and butterflies with Momento black ink,
stamped a flower in Stamping up, pomegranate made circles with the pomegranate and watered gesso..

I colored a half a die cut butterfly with gold ink, added a sentiment, colored some silk ribbon and stamped it, glued it under the paper....

The inside paper I painted with watery gesso, the paper was lovely so I wanted to still see it.
I used Tim's strips stencil, inking it up with pomegranate and rusty hinge, spraying it with water then laying it down
I stamped the window with the word Faith, I added Love on the inside.

I love the way Miss Julie Ann added this sentiment using the words individually, making each word count, I like to live in the moment...

I have loooooooved how Miss Butterfly has been creating her water color paper with her amazing edges, I tried it with this lovely sentiment, a sweet flower and butterfly from my stash.

I added a tiny card adding more texture for the sentiments..

                                  The inside the tiny card.

Thanks for visiting, letting me share my latest creation, I'm loving these envelope cards, thanks everyone for all your inspiration, I couldn't do it with out you..  ((( BIG HUGS)))...
