WHEN A MAGPIE DREAMS WITH THE DRAGONS...

Hello my Lovelies, time to reveal my magical wardrobe, when a Magpie gets to dream with some wonderfully creative Dragons.
I am blessed, I have been honored to be a Dragons Dreamboat 5 times and also asked to be a guest designer.  Thanks from the bottom of my heart for inspiring and encourage me to dream along.
I had to create a special Nest (wardrobe) to store my tags in.
So come along, grab a cuppa, and enjoy the tour of my magical cupboard, full of my dreams....
There a lots of photos and I will be nattering on, as I do, :O)..

I took the lid of the box sliced it in half with my trusty box cutter.
I taped all the edges with masking tape making them steadier Gessoed them a couple of times, I was waiting for the fabulous stencil my DS Sandy sent me, they are Roman letters, they remind me of the gorgeous doors on the La Sagrada Familia,  here
in Barcelona, I believe its the most beautiful church in the world,  they started construction in 1828, they are still working on it, I fell in love with Barcelona and Senor Gaudi who is my favorite artist, architect , his buildings blew me away and that curved bench made out of mosaic tiles, in his park** THE BOMB **. Sorry back on track,  I was very excited with my stencil.
I painted it with my Fresco paints..

Ooww aren't those letter lovely, I laid them down on all 4 corners..

I stamped the word creative on gessoed book page with some Inca gold dots, edged it in fire brick red, the definition is stamped on plain gessoed book paper

The gold piece in the middle is, well I used a copper colored braclet, cover it with toilet paper, using a stipple brush and water, to catch all the design, I put a layer of mod poge on top, then let it dry.
The next day I carefully peeled it from the bracelet, it had rusted a bit, loved that :), I put it in a book with weights on top to flattened it. I used my gold gelato over it then rubbed it in with my fingers. I thought it looked like a piece of wood molding,  you see on old wardrobes. The handles are 2 pieces from a bracelet, I painted them with Inca gold.
I stamped the words Magpie and Dragons, well the wardrobe is who it was created by,  dreaming with them has been such a joy.

I covered the doors with some same wall paper as the inside.
I took 2 paper sticky back frames, first I gessoed them then painted them with Inca gold, I used some shiny foil paper to make a mirror.
The feather is one of the ones Tonniece has given me, I just had to add a feather, these being special to me, as you know...

Welcome :), all but 3 of them are in there, the other 3 are too big, I have them hanging around it...

Trying to attach the doors was a huge challenge, since the lid to the boot box is larger so it can slide on top, I didn't realize it until I tried to put the doors and side together. I don't have any hinges, so I had to improvise. I put 2 layers of tape, a mesh layer, and a thick plastic tape with mesh inside the tape. Then I made some washi tape, with white medical tape, painted it with fresco's paint and stamped the alphabet, rubbed some Inca gold over it. I used Alinen's glue in between the layers so it would hold when the doors open, I laided weights on each side letting them dry for a day, so it took a couple of days... The sides and lid meet, so they sit out from the box and give it some room for my large tags, I use all sorts of things to make my tags, never a plain tag, I don't even own one, improvising again, I like that it challenges me..

Eeekkksss, when I got up that morning and went over to take the weights off (pieces of slate), flipped it over, I was devastated to see the letters were upside down, what was I to do, well I could paint over it stamp it again, nope, it's kinda me, and it is just for me, so I'm embracing my mistake.......
I used a long stem of a bull rush, instead of a dowel, they are quite strong, to hold the tags, then used 2 wooden tube beads on the ends, The End....

Thanks so much for visiting and staying till the end, bless you :O)..
I'm off to make dinner and will try to fly around and visit as many as you Lovely Ladies as I can. I haven't had any time to start this fortnight challenge, I must do that, then get to my Christmas things. It's going to be crazy around this nest till the new year, so I will try to live in the moment and it will be all GOOD. Hope you all have a wonderful week, ((( BIG HUGS )))..

MY GOLD FEATHER BOX....

Hello my Lovelies thanks for stopping by my nest, it's been a crazy few days, lots of company, trying to finish my box and contents, I  was going to enter the new Dragon Dreams challenge, I haven''t been able to think of the anything, a real blank, searching through all my things, it's about birds,  and the letter G, it must be the letter. anyway I have a few love things to make and send out so I'll work on those and hope something comes to me before  the challenge is over LOL.. On to my box...

I tried to do some crackling, need more practice with that., I forgot to crackle the edge around the lid, so I had to gold leaf that too, I kind of like it better this way, I added a tiny nest lined it with threads from my rusted material and some magical eggs, see how they are iridescent, not sure what kind of eggs they are but I know they are magical...
I stamped on the inside of the lid with my fountain and bird stamp, didn't like it so just gessoed over it but you can see it faintly...

I tore a piece of rusted tee shirt to keep the book tied, I had made that broach a while back, kind of messed it up the feathers with that  darn glue gun:) but thought it went lovely with the feather theme,  I glued a bead on the skewer to hold the feathers I added,
                                           close up ..

The eyelash feathers, I joined them with my waxed string added some letter beads with the F, just taped it to the back with washi tape, the brown ones, I cut out from that fab paper, I've had forever and just found them, edged them with brushed corduroy and added a green wooden bead, the pic below is just another view of the sides, I have my glue gun heating to glue the nest on, it was just sitting on the earlier pic..

Thanks again for visiting and leaving me such lovely comments, them make my heart sing..I have a couple of hours of sunlight left to create something I hope, I'll fly around blog land when the sunsets to visit all you lovely Ladies, hope you have a wonderful weekend...

BOX TO HOLD CARDS..

Hello my lovelies, have I missed you all sooooo
much I can't wait to see what you all have been
doing, I'm posting a few things I didn't get to post
before I left on vacation.
I had an old box and needed something to hold some
cards I made for my DS, ( the one with the cottage)
I have been altering shoe boxes for a long time,
I watched a video Altered shoe box by Kellie Murton.
She showed some great tips on how to improve the way
I made them. I used masking tape on all the edges, then painted them, this strengthens the box plus gives it a great frame for
your papers.

I covered it with some lovely wood grain paper
and added some hummingbirds I had left over.

I cut a slot and covered it with my washi tape
to reinforce it and make it easier to open.

The back view.

Side view.

This is my embossed punch I have and use for
all my projects, I got this for a gift from Tonniece.
Thanks for visiting and I'll be around to visit you
all as soon as I can, missed you greatly.
Have a wonderful creative day.
NAMASTE !!!!

BOX FOR GIO'S WALLET...

I finally got to my desk to finish my project.
I needed to make a box for Gio's wallet she gave me so I could
display it and it wouldn't get dirty or ruined.
Took pic's before I put the acetate on it, no glare :).
Used an empty box for perfume Tabu, Sue's, I have a few boxes.
Made a little pillow from some old embroider sheets, so it sat
up higher in the box.
Made a spray with gelatos,  pink and purple,
shave some and put it with water in your small spray bottle wait for a while
 then shake, shake, shake,shake,shake,shake,
you put your right foot in, sorry :O).
Sprayed it on bubble wrap then laid my tissue on it, lifted off
carefully, then let it dry, better to use thicker kind, I didn't
Stamped  with some script.
I also sprayed it on a piece of pattern tissue,  stamped with a teapot.
I don't have a cup stamp like on the wallet, but thought to use the
pot to pour the tea:).
Used 2 layers over the whole box then cut out the teapot,
no not fussy cut, never:). Modge podged it all.
I sanded the edges down then used the same gelatos to go
around the edges rubbed it in.
Added some string, well you can knit with this stuff, ladder
something LOL.
A couple of side view.
I didn't want to add much, just wanted to showcase the wallet.

Now I have time to visit all of the wonderful artist,
I'll be going away on the first 2 weeks of august.
for our family reunion, its our 48th one soooo
I have to make a stack of cards for our craft table
and make a rum cake for the bake table. Thats what
I'll be doing this week..
Thanks so much for stopping by and having a look.
Have a wonderful creative day..

STAR BOX

Hello my Lovely Ladies...
I finally finished the lid to my box, I made a few black flowers and ended
up just using one, I think it was the pretties one, might be the sparkle :O)..
When I added the sequined kinda of heart, it was off an old dress and the
black dangly necklace piece, it was a little heavy so I made a stronger
lifter upper, LOL to pick it up, it was an old earring.
I added an old silver shoe buckle and a big black bead and 2 other pair
of earrings on either side.
Added some lovely feather from Tonniece, a couple of little white flowers.
Of course I had to add the nest with some lovely eggs inside.
I'm still working on the Monastery :).
Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful day..

NEW ROOM FOR MY DRESS

I had to make a room for the new dress..
I used an old shoe box, covered the walls with my wallpaper.
I had a piece of ink dyed strip of paper for ever, I trimmed the
top and bottom as the molding:):).
I had some hand dyed material the same colour of orange, so I edged
it with tea dye (Tim's) also some worn lipstick, to match the border.
I used a some frill off a really old hat for the top added the lace from the dress to the bottom.
I put some straps on the dress and made a hanger.
Used some old jewelry for the cameo, it was pink I used copics to make it orange put it in a frame.
Thanks for looking and have wonderful day..
