Hello my lovelies, it's almost Sunday morning, just in time to add my mask to the Paper artsy challenge here, Miss Julia Ann has made 3 gorgeous mask and inspired me to decorate one I've had sitting around for years, now was the time to do it.
I ran my ink pads across the wrinkles with red barn, rusty hinge ink..
I stamped them all with the only Paper arts stamps I have, a special gift, hot picks 1006. love these... Two the same as the one above..
These I stamped the other filters with the other stamps in the set..
I cut this one in a circle, 1/4 in. around, right to the middle ..
I cut out all my leaves with the other three coffee filters..
Here are the leaves....
I gessoed the mask twice, then used my Tim's strips stencil with modeling paste to give the mask a bark look..
I mixed gesso with black water color paint from a tube, just stired it to make it marble, then panted it on the mask, added some brown and green to give it a bark lookI had some gesso left, I watered it down and covered some dictionary pages to make some grey leaves, they are cut into a square and then accordion folded, then folded in half, easy and lovely leaves to frame my mask...
Made some vines from wire and green florist tape, then stuck them all on the mask, I also made a little nest with a bird to add to the mask.. Some close ups below...
I adore masks, now I have one of my own to hang in my studio ( front room). Thanks so much for stopping by, it's taken my 3 days to make this, now I can take a wee break from my desk, see you all soon. Hope you all have a wonderful day...
