Hello my Lovelies, I made something a little different and this is really photo heavy and a long post,, SORRY, you better grab a cuppa, lots of things going on this canvas. My lovely friend Mildred is blind, so I decided to make her something she can feel to visualize what my art is all about...
I covered the canvas with some gesso on different parts, used some paints and inks to color it, glued some different laces around in spots.
I used some beaded letter for her name on top of some old crocheted lace, ran eyelash wool along the side
I had to add some corrugate, 2 pieces with a bit of gesso, a mirrored Magpie :), a chip board tea cup and tea bag, I inked them then stamped a Chinese best of luck sign, I cover the tea bag with a used tea bag, some string and stamped the label
On top of another piece of lace, I used a crocheted piece, a circle covered in string then the watch, I used a glass bead with a tiny bit of lace under it, in the corner to secure the wool in place'
I used one of the lovely die cuts I got from my Cuz Miss Julie Ann and some of the bits of pieces on the out side, added some Cancer pieces the hope and heart and wings...
I put a bit of ladder wool and attached a tiny flower I made.Used another crocheted tea dyed piece under the metal fish, it was part of a bracelet.
I
I used a stencil for the vine, it looks like sea weed now with the pearl for the water bubbles, I dripped some bees wax along this side
Another crotchet piece with 2 glass bead to hold up the metal butterfly, I colored it with Tim's paint and added a string of bling for its body
I wanted her to feel some textured paper all edged and curled, two embossed piece, some inked water color papers, the "thinking of you" was a piece I had sitting around, it's old journal paper inked and stamped
A feather arrangement....
I fussy cut one of the gorgeous embossed feathers Tonniece made for me added 4 real feathers on top, one had a leather strip with some beads, the flower is made of leather, it was a pair of earrings, added a tiny feather on it.....
Thanks for hanging around to see all of this, I hope it brings her lots of pleasure feeling everything, I really enjoyed making it and sharing it with you...
We had a scare with Deb, but she is still hanging in there like the Trooper that she is.
Two weeks have passed already, the Dragons are dreaming already, I have to put my air conditioner in so that will means tearing apart my studio apart, then put it back together so I hope I'll have time to do a bit of dreaming before that..
Thanks for visiting my nest, I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
(((( BIG HUGS ))))
NAMASTE!!!

This is just amazing - so much lovely texture in there for Mildred and such a joy to look at for everyone else. This is such a special project and is sure to be explored often! Love to trooper Deb and also to you! Chrisx
What a lovely piece. You have used so many wonderful elements and textures. I love it!
Dianne, this is lovely! It is a great idea to create something so textured for Mildred. She's going to love it! As Chris says it's perfect for touch because it's so tactile; but it's also gorgeous for Mildred's sighted friends to appreciate too! Every piece that goes to make up the whole is so beautifully selected: I love that teacup, by the way! Lovely work, Magpie Cus! Sending lots of positive thoughts for Deb. Sorry to hear about the scare; she and you are in my thoughts. Julie Ann xxx
Love this canvas! Your friend will certainly 'see' it, awesome!
Oh Dianne, sorry to hear about Deb's scare, hope there are no more of those - and yes, she really is a trooper (and so are you!).
This is a beautiful canvas, I am pleased you showed the elements in detail, it is always lovely to see close-ups. How wonderful to do this wonderful tactile piece for Mildred to enjoy! Hugs, Anne xx
What a fantastically tactile creation, Dianne - a brilliantly creative way to share your art with Mildred, and there's just so much here for her fingertips to enjoy. I love how the leaves have become seaweed with those pearly bubbles, and the torn paper layers look wonderful.
Love to you and Deb - and good luck with the air-con chaos!
Alison xx
What a special gift, so thoughtful, so many dimensions for your friend to enjoy feeling her way through and daydreaming. You're lovely, Dianne.
Thank you for the update on Deb. You know you're in my thoughts and prayers.
I've deactivated comments on my blog for now (was messing with my creativity just a tad), but I will continue to visit and email with friends. Stay in touch.

I grew up having a blind Aunt we used to play dominos with - the dots stuck out instead of being recessed. The point of that is I KNOW exactly what you were going for and how much this will mean to Mildred! YOU have created something so special for her with so many details and so much love! FANTASTIC!
Long time no visit... sorry for being MIA! So pretty Dianne. Lots of neat elements... I have to study them one by one... love the butterflies the most!
