Hello my Lovelies, just got home this morning and checked out what the Dragon's were dreaming, I missed the last challenge because of internet problems so I was determined to play this challenge, the lovely Gabrielle wanted cogs with the letter P..
Just had time to take pics after I finished it. Can you believe it took 4 hours to make it, just went with the flow, time flew by..
I started with a piece of inked mixed media paper I had sitting on my desk, I had inked it with mowed lawn, broken china, rusty hinge spritz with water.
I had only one die cut cog I had gotten from my DS Sandy, I have nothing steam punkish, I used the die cut to stencil it all over the tag with broken china, then found a NBUS stamp which Perhaps is a cog or Perhaps it isn't, thats' what I'm calling it anyway and stamped it in rusty hinge....
I had to find a word for P, Perhaps maybe, no, so I got out my trusty tiny dictionary and started the Ps, when I found Parasol, eekkss now I'm a parasol girl, I have to hide from that sun, they gives me some SUNSHADE which is the definition for parasol, I love that word....
Light bulb idea, I would use my now blue die cut cog for the base of my parasol, mine are painted Chinese silk ones but I have always wanted one covered with black lace , now I have one on my P tag, it might inspire me too make a large one :).....
I made another parasol with a tooth pick and a circle I punched from an some off stamped paper I had sitting around my desk I added a crystal bead on top and a plastic bead for the handle...
I backed it on to a piece of corrugated cardboard, added some gesso,, the three colors of ink again randomly around...
I had some orange ribbon, it comes in a strip of 6 pieces sewn together, I cut the first piece and they all split, I curled all the strips, love how this came out....
I punched another circle, cut it in half, inked 1 piece with mustard seed, stamped my P in the sun, added some stickles around it to make the rays..
On the die cut cog,
I cut some used incense sticks ( I keep a jar full of them, great for miniature things ) between 2 circles of black lace, I should have added some trim, dang, anywho, I added silver stickles to the tips and in the middle, used the other half of the punched circle, inked it with broken china, (cool under there) stamped my word..
Whoosh this was a long post, sorry.. I had a brilliant time at my desk, dreaming with the dragons, I've missed it stacks. I'm entering this with the Dragon's here....
I was away for my reunion and big fun was had by all, ....
I'm flying around to try and get caught up with all of you, I can't wait, I'm ready for a inspiration over load.
Thanks so much for visiting my nest, you make my heart sing. I have a few things to show you so "I'LL BE BACK"...

Oh my! That fabulous lacy parasol will be great to hide from the sun and oh so glamorous! Glad you enjoyed your holiday! Chrisx
That lacy parasol is incredibly elegant although it would be rather soggy after a day such as we've had in my little corner of the world, it has rained all day long!
Love your tag - 4 hours, that is an achievement with all the techniques and details - Bravo to you!
Wishes
Lynne

Oh, Dianne, haven't you just come fluttering back full of ideas! I love parasols too!!! Fans and parasols are two of my favourite things: I reckon I should have lived in another century, you know! I love the way that magpie imagination of yours worked overtime on this tag! You were seeing cogs everywhere, dear Cousin! I love the black lace and your idea to use incense sticks is just brilliant. It's lovely to have you back in Blogland, filling us all with inspiration again! Missed you! Oh, and thank you for dreaming with the Dragons too! Julie Ann xxx

Helloooo Lovely Dianne!!! Thank you so much for the very very sweet comment you just left on my blog. That means so much coming from you. You are always such a positive person and leave very heartfelt comments. This past couple of weeks has been really busy for me outside of my crafting world. So, my time in blogland and in my craftroom has been super limited and I am about to go nuts! haha Hopefully things will settle down soon. Your blog posts are awesome. I love this latest card...it has an asian flair to me. But I think many of your pieces to and I love that. I also love the dream catcher piece that you recently created. Lovely. The dragon's tag with the corrugated background...Love that one, too. You do a nice job of adding relevant detail to your work and to me, that makes all the difference. Thanks again for your sweet comment! <3 Candy
