BRIGITA'S FORGOTEN GOWN......

Hello my Lovelies, I have started a series of
dresses, I'm going to hang them in my bird cage,
my last Canary who used to sing to me all day
passed away about a year ago, now it sits empty
in my studio (front room), so I'm going to fill it
with tiny dresses, Tonniece's idea brilliant one :O).
This one belong's to Miss Brigita, a beautiful fairy...

I started with my beer mats shaped like a dress,
gessoed it, tore up strips of my tea dyed material,
some of my rusted material,
I folded a gessoed, inked, stamped, book page for the center,
Used some white net under it than the gathered tan mesh on top.
I started layering the torn pieces on each side till I got
the shape I wanted.
I cut  out 2 pieces from a tea dyed big doilies  to
lay over the front.
I wrapped the rusted strips over the top crisscrossed,.
Wrapped some lace around her waist, then a triangle
rusted piece to cover the doilies,

This was an earring I glued it at her waist,
the little brown beads were red, used a copic to
color them,
added a flat wooden bead and a blue flat back pearl.
I had a lot of thread from tearing the material, so I
gathered a pile and twirled it together then wrapped
it around the wooden bead, then hanging on the sides...

The left side..

The right side...

I kind of have to cover the backs so I glued a
piece of rusted material...
I love this grungy old look, threads hanging every where
so I think it will be my
favorite for now..
Thanks so much for visiting,
It's Thanksgiving weekend in Canada, I'm thankful
for every one of my followers, who all inspire me.
THANK YOU..
Hope you have a wonderful weekend..
NAMASTE!!!!

This so beautiful, Dianne. It has such a wonderful fantasy look and the colour scheme is a wonderful blend of vintage and an almost sci fi/fantasy feel. What a great idea of Tonneice's to have them displayed in the bird cage. That will look so unusual. I have the pretty, little lacy dress you sent me with my birthday goodies and I love that one too. I am sure your followers are thankful for you too, Dianne - you are always so inspiring and so supportive! Julie Ann xx

Dianne
I am enthralled - the sheer beauty of the gown is something I am so excited about. This is "so me", how I would treasure such a creation and it will look all the more beautiful for being displayed in a birdcage, especially a birdcage which holds such meaning and memories for you.
Thank You for sharing something that is quite exquisite and sumptuous.
Wishes
